FASHION PROJECT
In 2024, Mowanjum Arts introduced to our artists fashion and design with the help of PaletTheory (a swimwear start-up). In the last year we created successfully two swimwear collections and presented them at KAFTA and Country to Couture. We would like to complete our fashion line with suitable beachwear and share our stories with the rest of the world.
To us this is a new experience which will help to engage our younger generations, and it gives us a new needed income stream to keep our Cultural Centre alive. Our designs are very unique compared to other Indigenous designs. We celebrate the Wandjina Culture in our creations, and it is time to get our stories recognised and share it with the rest of the world.
